Astric Loch, who appeared on Season 21 of The Bachelor with Nick Viall, recently posted a baby bump update to her Instagram. The 31-year-old Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise alum is expecting her first child with Kevin Wendt who won The Bachelorette Canada and The Bachelor: Winter Games.
Sporting a bright green t-shirt with matching leggings, Astrid smiled in a selfie along with Kevin, who was holding her bump, which she posted to Instagram.
She captioned the photo: “hit us with all of your wives tales, I’m ready to start guessing the sex of this baby. also I swear I’m showing, this angle just weirdly hides it.”
Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt have suffered fertility struggles
It’s a particularly exciting pregnancy for the pair, as Astrid revealed they suffered from fertility struggles in a series of Instagram photos.
In a slideshow, which she posted on May 13, Astrid shared honest and raw photos of her IVF journey, including a selfie in which she looks to be crying, and full body photo with an extremely bloated stomach.
Despite sharing such intimate photos, as well as a blog post, The Bachelor Nation star claims it “barely scratches the surface on all things IVF.”
Astrid wrote a blog post about their IVF journey
The blog post Astrid wrote for PEOPLE, gives a brutally honest look inside what it’s like for a couple going through infertility struggles and IVF.
She described the first few months of “trying” and the number of methods they used. She claims they did “Three cycle-tracker apps, ovulation sticks, basal thermometer, fertility-friendly lube (that was fun), legs up, legs down, every day, every other day, multiple times a day — we really tried it all.”
She shared personal details of their appointment at a fertility specialist, which showed they were both healthy, and nothing was wrong. Astrid claimed they were among the 20 to 30 percent of couples who have unexplained fertility.
In the blog, Astrid revealed she suffered an ectopic pregnancy in October 2020, meaning they had to delay trying for 8-10 weeks.
At the end of the blog, she wrote, “Our hope in sharing our story is to raise awareness so that conversations surrounding infertility become less of a taboo.”
Astrid and Kevin announced their pregnancy on Instagram in May
On May 9, Astrid announced on her Instagram that she and Kevin were finally expecting, sharing a loved-up shot of the pair in front of a lake holding an ultrasound photo.
Astrid and Kevin met on Bachelor in Paradise in 2018, however decided to go their separate ways during the finale. They later got back together off-camera, and got engaged in August 2019.
Bachelor in Paradise returns Monday, August 16 at 8/7c on ABC.
