Bachelor Clayton Echard’s newest insight into the rest of his season is straight out of Bachelor nation’s worst nightmares.
After getting called out by fans for constantly licking his lips on the show, Clayton took to social media to poke fun at himself and the habit.
Clayton Echard posts show ‘spoilers’ featuring a video of his tongue
It also appears The Bachelor is having way too much fun to stop teasing his fans anytime soon.
Clayton posted a video made up solely of tongue photos to his Instagram after fans begged him to stop licking his lips so much.
“Also, SPOILER ALERT!!” he wrote on his Instagram post of the video. “For those of you wanting to see an exclusive sneak peek of next week’s episode, swipe for a video preview and make sure to have you volume [up arrow emoji].”
He continued to joke around with fans as Bachelor Nation shared their reactions in the comments section.
“Clayton we need a trigger warning for that second slide,” a fan account wrote.
“Why?! You all should be used to the lip-licking by now,” he responded.
“My eyesssss [laughing emoji],” another fan joked. “Surely we’re to the episodes with new chapstick?”
“I don’t think the chapstick ever fully solved the problem,” Clayton wrote back.
This comment was referencing a tweet Clayton made earlier in the season addressing backlash for the lip-licking.
“I could be wrong, but I believe this is the last episode of lip-licking…we switched over to a new chapstick a couple of weeks in,” he wrote.
Fans begged Clayton Echard to stop licking his lips
Fans noticed The Bachelor lead had the nervous habit on night one and begged him to stop licking his lips so much.
The action even prompted one account to make an entire TikTok dedicated to all the times Clayton licked his lips on night one alone.
“Someone told me to count the number of times Clayton licked his lips night 1 and now it can’t be unseen,” the fan account wrote.
Clayton Echard has struggled with intense backlash from fans
This isn’t the first time this season that Clayton has had some fun with critique from the viewers. After fans petitioned to ban his hoodie with a sports coat group date look, Clayton joked “it would have come back on a biweekly basis at least if I had any say in it.”
Despite his sense of humor and willingness to laugh at himself, The Bachelor has also opened up about how he’s struggled with the intense backlash and scrutiny from his season.
Fans will have to watch until the end of this season to see if his journey is all worth it.
The Bachelor airs on Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
