Mike Johnson, the fan-favorite in the running to become the next Bachelor, took himself off the list for the title when he went on Bachelor In Paradise. And when he didn’t find love there, he suddenly showed up on a date with Demi Lovato earlier this fall.
Johnson and Lovato had gone on a date, where they had been spotted sharing a kiss. However, both didn’t make the romance public, and they were supposedly taking it slow. But since she’s now linked to another man, it’s possible that the romance naturally fizzled out in October.
This week, Demi went public with a new romance. She revealed that she was dating a man named Austin Wilson. Clearly, Mike isn’t the man for her right now.

Demi appears to be head-over-heels in love with her new man, but Mike hasn’t said anything about his former fling. Instead, he seems to be putting all of his energy into himself. Based on an Instagram post, he’s focusing on self-love.
In the post, he quotes Bell Hooks and reveals that he agrees about putting yourself first before you can do anything else in love. However, Mike also mentions that self-love should also be applied in other areas, such as new trades for your career, aksing for quality feedback, and having tough conversations with people — or even with yourself.
Perhaps, Mike Johnson wants to focus more on himself before pursuing a serious relationship with someone.
Even though ABC supposedly considered Mike for the role of Bachelor for the 2020 season, they went with Peter Weber. He has filmed the season throughout the last two months and his season will premiere on ABC in less than two months. One can imagine Mike will be cheering on his friend.
