Lara Du Preez brings new life into Below Deck Med Season 8 each week, and fans are here for it.
Season 8 of Below Deck Med has been a toxic one, leaving fans with not many great things to say about Captain Sandy Yawn and her Mustique crew.
Lara, though, stands out among a crew of chaos, drama, feuds, and, of course, lazy Max Salvador.
Bosun Luka Brunton rewarded Lara for doing such a good job by giving her a well-deserved promotion to lead deckhand.
She did turn around and kiss him later that night, but Below Deck Med fans were even on board for that unexpected moment.
That’s right, Twitter was exploding with so much love for Lara.
Below Deck Med fans praise Lara Du Preez as the ‘unsung’ hero’ of Season 8
“So far Lara is one of my very favorite people on all the below decks,” said one tweet.
There was another that insisted Lara’s really one of the only likable crew members this season on Below Deck Med.
A different user stans Lara, while one simply didn’t see the Lara and Luka kiss happening at all.
“Lara is the unsung hero of #BelowDeckMed,” read a tweet.
One user even shared their love for the new lead deckhand.
Lara was also referred to as a “superstar” in a tweet that dissed Max.
Speaking of Max, a few tweets were about him, including one that praised Lara for not tossing him over the side of the yacht.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Max and his days on the hit Bravo show may be ending, so he could be out of Lara’s hair soon.
Another used a GIF of Eddie Lucas from Below Deck to express readiness for Lara to whip Max into shape.
Lara Du Preez gets ‘well deserved’ Below Deck Med promotion
Plenty of tweets from Below Deck Med fans were chiming in on Lara being promoted to lead deckhand.
A tweet even commented on Lara breaking into tears after learning she was now lead deckhand.
“Lara deserves to be lead deckhand. #BelowDeckMed #BelowDeck,” declared a tweet.
Oh yes, Below Deck Med fans are all about Lara Du Preez, and she deserved all the praise that’s coming her way. Lara has been a breath of fresh air this season amid so much chaos.
Granted, Season 8 of Below Deck Med hasn’t even hit the midway point yet, so that could change, but we don’t see it happening. Lara simply rocks.
Below Deck Med airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo. Seasons 1-7 are streaming on Peacock.
