Below Deck Mediterranean’s Katie Flood has spilled the tea on the Season 6 crew’s bond and her first impressions about her colleagues.
The new season has only just begun, with viewers slowly making up their minds about the new crew. Deckhands Lloyd Spencer, David Pascoe, and Mzi “Zee” Dempers have quickly become fan favorites, while second stew Lexi Wilson has become the one viewers don’t expect to last all season.
Katie has been pretty chatty regarding her experience on Below Deck Med. The new chief stew has been an open book about her romance with Season 4 alum Jack Stirrup, her friendship with Malia White, and defended Captain Sandy Yawn’s management style.
Now the New Zealand beauty’s dishing all about her colleagues, including her first impressions of the Lady Michelle crew members.
Chef Mathew Shea didn’t make a good first impression on Katie Flood on Below Deck Med
Kate has revealed that chef Matthew Shea didn’t make a good first impression on her but not because he left the crew in the lurch on the first charter. She wasn’t happy about Matthew’s actions. However, there’s another reason she didn’t bond with him right away.
“He’s the kind of guy who grows on you. Mathew grows on you. Like, he is so weird and quirky in his own way, but the thing I love about Mathew is he is who he is, and he will not change for anybody,” Katie shared with Us Weekly.
There’s no question Matthew didn’t make a great first impression. The crew doesn’t let him live it down, either. Viewers can expect the chef’s decision to come back and bite him a couple of times this season.
Katie opens up about Season 6 crew bond
The chief stew gushed over deckhand David Pascoe calling him “the cutest little person ever.” According to Katie, David is not only adorable, but he’s a caring soul who is always there when a person needs him.
One person Katie bonded with quickly was the third stew, Courtney Veale. Their friendship was a far cry from Katie’s working relationship with Lexi.
“She is, like, the hardest little worker I think I’ve ever come across. She’s so good at her job. She has such common sense, but you know deep down she’s such a soft little soul, and you know, she’s so precious,” Katie expressed to the weekly magazine.
Although there’s a slew of drama on the Bravo show, Katie also shared the crew laughed a lot and enjoyed hanging out together.
Those who made Katie laugh the most were Mzi “Zee” Dempers and Malia White. The chief stew claimed Zee has the best one-liners, and hopefully, viewers will hear a lot of them on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 6.
As for Lloyd Spencer and Lexi well, Katie referred to Lloyd as a goofball and Lexi as full of sass.
Katie Flood from Below Deck Mediterranean has shared her thoughts on her Season 6, and for the most part, she likes everyone.
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
