Braunwyn Windham-Burke is trying to make a case that all the attention she’s been getting is for the greater good.
Her Real Housewives of Orange County castmates, and even viewers, have gotten tired of seeing Windham-Burke’s life play out in the tabloids.
Whether it’s strolling on the beach with her new girlfriend Kris, or making eye-raising comments about her marriage, it seems the mom-of-seven is always in the blogs.
But while the other Housewives believe their co-star is doing all of it for attention, she thinks that they are just jealous.
Are the Orange County Housewives jealous?
During a recent interview with Us Weekly, the Real Housewives of Orange County star talked about the contention between her and her castmates.
The 43-year-old was asked how she felt about her the ladies saying she’s faking her sobriety and exploiting her relationship for attention.
“It’s hurtful, it’s hurtful,” responded Braunwyn. “And I think they’re taking the easy out. They’re taking the low blow to make themselves more relevant.”
And the reality TV personality made it clear that she thinks jealousy is at the root of her castmates’ issues with her.
“When you have such a large platform like most of us do, I think you have to take some responsibility. So while you might be upset or jealous at some of this that’s happening, you have to remember there’s a woman somewhere in her bedroom that’s going, ‘oh my God Braunwyn came out I can too.’ And those are a lot of the DMs I get every day,” explained Braunwyn.
She added, “I get a lot of them from women my age who have felt this way and haven’t told anyone else. I get a lot of DMs from people that are alcoholics that haven’t admitted it.”
Braunwyn says her castmates speak out of anger
During her chat with the media outlet, the RHOC star continued to talk about the women and the things they have been saying about her.
And the newly sober Bravo star thinks her castmates’ comments are simply a reflection of their anger towards her.
“I think when they say these things they say them maybe out of anger, not really realizing the larger implications of these things,” positioned Braunwyn. ”
However, she has a message for anyone who thinks her sobriety is just for attention.
She affirmed during her interview, “My sobriety is not debatable, it’s not. That is off the table. I’m sober, I’m working a program, period!”
“You don’t get to tell me the right way to get sober, that’s not up to you,” continued Windham-Burke. “That’s up to me, and I have people that I talk to that I trust in the program. You’re not in the program, keep your mouths shut if you don’t know what you’re talking about!”
