Geoffrey Mac won Bravo’s Project Runway on last night’s season finale. Even though our prediction was wrong, and Nancy wasn’t the winner, we’re truly happy for Geoffrey.
With his win, Geoffrey takes home a $250,000 cash prize, his very own feature in ELLE magazine, a career-changing mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), and another $50,000 courtesy of sponsor Pilot FriXion Erasable Gel Ink Pens.
These once-in-a-lifetime prizes are a dream come true for Geoffrey and gives him the tools he needs to build and grow his fashion business.
This season, four designers had the opportunity to present collections at New York Fashion Week: Victoria Cocieru, Sergio Guadarrama, Nancy Volpe-Beringer, and Geoffrey Mac.
The final runway shows
Ultimately, Geoffrey’s final collection — titled “Purple Heart” — a futuristic, gender-inclusive, Avant-Garde collection, impressed judges the most.
Judge Elaine Welteroth called it a “Billie Eilish style” of fashion.
The journey to the win wasn’t easy for Geoffrey, as he would often get stressed under pressure and start questioning the direction of his designs.
There were many times when we saw him extremely anxious and frazzled and weren’t sure if he would be able to continue to the end.
But he did…. and he won.
Not all Project Runway fans agree with the judges
Many fans were disappointed by the judge’s final decision and didn’t think Geoffrey should have been the winner. They don’t think the overall collection and all the big puffer jackets were all that good.
On Twitter, under #ProjectRunway, people are throwing down some serious shade.
“That big, black puffer coat looked like a tick,” one fan said, while another wrote:
That black puffer jacket would take up a whole subway car. #ProjectRunway

Here’s what a few other unhappy fans said about Geoffrey’s win on Twitter:
geoffrey’s collection, with gigantic puffer coats and dresses with sleeves hanging all over the place, was “chić and refined?” #projectrunway pic.twitter.com/BnhtHe2qsw

The runway shows were so close this season but I honestly would not have picked Geoffrey based on his final collection. I think in the season he was the strongest overall, but in the finale he was the weakest. #ProjectRunway

Some Project Runway fans are ecstatic about Geoffrey’s win
Even though some fans are not happy about Geoffrey’s winning this season of Project Runway, there are plenty who absolutely loved his designs and thought the win was well-deserved.

Here’s what the rest of Geoffrey’s collection looks like:
On the aftershow, Geoffrey told mentor Christian Siriano that he would be taking a much-needed break before starting on the next part of his journey… building his brand and establishing his label.
Nancy, Sergio, and Victoria sure did put up a good fight, but Geoffrey pulled out the win.
Congratulations Geoffrey!
We can’t wait for the next season of Project Runway.
