Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi weighed in on the controversy surrounding the former mean girl behavior of the model and social media influencer Chrissy Teigen during the latest episode of her podcast “It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey.”
Nicole and Joey spoke of Chrissy’s past tweets where she made fun of other celebrities in a derogatory manner.
“Did she ever make fun of us?” the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star asked her co-host.
“I hope so,” Joey joked.
The two recalled their individual meetings with the wife of John Legend, and explained their interactions.
Nicole shared she was at a press junket for her 2012 Jersey Shore spinoff show with Jenni Farley titled Snooki & JWoww and realized Chrissy was at the same event.
“She ran away”
Nicole explained that the three women were close enough to see one another but when she tried to interact with Chrissy, things went awry.
“She was doing her photos in the step and repeat and then it was us,” Nicole explained of her version of what transpired between herself and Chrissy.
“I wanted to go say ‘hi’ to her, but she kind of saw us and ran the other way. I was like, ‘Oh, cool,’” she stated.
Joey’s interaction with the social media superstar went a bit differently than his co-host’s.
The two met when Joey was out with longtime Kim Kardashian friend, Jonathan Cheban.
Joey said Chrissy was nice to them, which caused Nicole to quip, “That’s because you were with Jonathan.”
Chrissy has since apologized for her prior poor social media behavior
On June 14, Chrissy shared a tweet where she apologized for her past bad behavior and asked for forgiveness moving forward.
“There is simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets. My targets didn’t deserve them. No one does. Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding, and support, not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor,” she wrote. The remainder of her statement can be seen below.
So far, Snooki hasn’t called out Chrissy Teigen for writing mean tweets about her but Jersey Shore fans have to wonder why the Sports Illustrated model would run the other way when Snooki was trying to say hi.
