Jinger Duggar is opening up about her time on reality TV and growing up in the spotlight.
The Duggar family debuted on the television scene since Jinger was around 10 years old. It started with a documentary about the large family, and from there, 19 Kids and Counting was born. It ran from 2008 until 2015, when it was canceled. Then, Counting On was born and ran from then until earlier this week, when it was canceled.
Following that news, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo released identical statements saying they agreed with TLC’s decision to cancel the show. They were also the couple who condemned Josh Duggar’s arrest on child pornography charges the hardest.
Jinger Duggar talks living in the public eye
For most of her life, Jinger Duggar has been in front of the camera. She talked about it a little bit in the book she co-authored with Jeremy Vuolo, but now, she is revealing a more in-depth look into how she has been feeling.
People got an exclusive listen to a podcast where Jinger was the guest. She joined Jeremy Fall on Dinner Party with Jeremy Fall and delved into what life in the public eye has been like for her.
When discussing being famous and in the spotlight, Jinger said, “I’ve told Jer a couple times, ‘I just don’t want to be in the public eye! I just don’t want to be there, I just don’t want to be here, I don’t want my kids to have people looking in on their lives and picking it apart.'”
She also mentioned, “I think a lot of people do look into fame, and they think it’s all beautiful, it’s all wonderful, and yes, as I’m saying, there are tons of perks, but then, you also have to wrestle through a lot.”
Interestingly enough, this explains why Jinger and Jeremy decided to pull back on the photos of their two daughters. Felicity has been shared a lot through Counting On and on social media, but when Evangeline was born, aside from a few newborn photos, they haven’t shown much.
On the podcast she said, “If I post a photo on Instagram, it’s like, immediately you’ll have people who will say, ‘Oh, what a cute family photo!’ And then you’ll have those who will say really mean things, even about your kids. And it’s like, ‘She’s 2! Don’t say anything about her, she can’t even defend herself.'”
What’s next for Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo?
Some followers believe that Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo were vying for their own reality TV show when they released their statement earlier this week. Rumors have circulated for years that the Duggar daughter always wanted to be in Hollywood, but based on her comments while on the podcast, that may not be what she wants now.
The couple has worked to build their brand, and with the release of their book in May, they have moved to a new platform as authors. They have done a lot with The Hope We Hold brand, and it is likely they will continue to use it moving forward.
Where Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo end up remains to be seen, but for now, they are done with reality TV.
