When the Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) first introduced Jules Wainstein, the slender star seemed vulnerable, innocent, and wide-eyed compared to the antics of seasoned divas such as Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill.
The RHONY cameras devoted most of Jules’ time on the show focusing on her eating disorder, which she had struggled for years.
Although Real Housewives viewers caught glimpses of her husband Michael Wainstein and the couple’s children, the emphasis was on Jules’ relationship with the other RHONY stars.
And as for troubles in the marriage, Jules hinted on RHONY that she felt unappreciated by Michael.
Jules Wainstein revealed prescription drug use on RHONY
During her time on Real Housewives of New York City, Jules also shared her use of prescription drugs.
One revelation occurred in the episode of The Real Housewives of New York City on June 29, 2016, per Us Weekly.
As Bethenny, Dorinda Medley, Carole, and Ramona Singer joined Jules for a cooking class, Wainstein made a joke about drugs, saying she was putting them on her pizza.
Jules was reportedly taking “Adderall on the regular, but had also been prescribed Percocet and lidocaine for her recent injury.”
That injury led to Wainstein complaining about her husband to Dorinda. She claimed that she called Michael “100 times” when she had an accident and he took six hours to appear at the hospital.

Fast-forward to 2020, and Michael and Jules are estranged. Wainstein is seeking to prove that his ex-wife is guilty of drug abuse and alleges the drugs caused her to behave oddly, according to TMZ.
Jules previously was arrested in Florida on domestic violence charges.
Michael headed to civil court to request a restraining order and ask that his estranged wife receive testing and treatment for what he calls a dangerous addiction to drugs.
In the documents TMZ reviewed, Wainstein alleges that Jules constitutes a risk to Michael and their children. He said one of their children told him Jules was taking drugs before the alleged violence that resulted in the battery charges.
Michael also claims that during their time in New York City, Jules arrived at home high on cocaine. When he confronted her about that, she allegedly hit him repeatedly in the face.
Wainstein referenced Jules’ problems in the past with prescription drugs, alleging the use of Adderall beyond what was prescribed.

As a result of what TMZ described as a “mini rampage” during a custody exchange, Jules was arrested in Florida.
Wainstein claims his estranged wife has shown “bizarre behavior” in front of their children, such as licking his car window, punching him, and hitting his car with a baseball bat.
Such actions resulted in Michael requesting the judge to order Jules to submit hair follicles to be tested.
If that test shows she is on drugs, Wainstein wants his estranged wife ordered into a drug treatment rehab.

Although the divorce case was filed in New York, Jules’ battery case and restraining order are both in Florida.
Michael headed to court in Florida for the emergency restraining order in the wake of Jules’ actions during the custody exchange.
Although a court hearing takes place this month, Wainstein wants immediate action now.
