If you enjoy seeing Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, on your TV screens, then we have great news for you.
You might be seeing a lot more of the Atlanta couple in the near future as they are reportedly getting a Bravo TV spinoff.
We often see singer/songwriter Kandi showcasing her family and business ventures on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. However we are about to get an inside look at Kandi and Todd as restaurateurs.
The upcoming show, called Old Lady Gang, will focus on the couple’s three restaurants of the same name.
Old Lady Gang restaurant
Kandi and Todd opened the first restaurant called Old Lady Gang in Atlanta in 2016, and its success led to two more locations, also in the city. The soul food restaurant serves southern dishes and was inspired by the recipes of Kandi’s Mom, Momma Joyce, along with her aunts Bertha and Nora.
The name was actually coined by TV viewers who dubbed the three sisters the Old Lady Gang after their hilarious appearances on previous episodes of the show.
RHOA has chronicled Kandi’s journey to opening her first OLG restaurant and has also filmed several scenes with the Atlanta housewives at the popular eatery.
Old Lady Gang has also been in the news recently due to a horrific shooting that occurred at the restaurant on Valentine’s Day.
An unidentified shooter walked into OLG and opened fire on a man, shooting two other bystanders in the process. All three victims were hospitalized. There has been no update on whether the shooter has been caught or even identified.
The couple later issued a public statement regarding their sadness about the incident.
Kandi and Todd’s spinoff show
No date has yet been confirmed as to when the spinoff show will premiere, but we do know that it’s currently in the production stage. It will feature Momma Joyce, Bertha, Nora, Kandi and Todd along with staff members from Old Lady Gang. It is still not clear if the show will focus on all three locations or just one.
This is not the reality stars’ first spinoff; it will actually be their fourth.
Kandi’s first Bravo show, The Kandi Factory, focused on the singer’s journey to find talented musicians. The second show featured Todd and Kandi’s wedding and the third, Kandi’s Ski Trip, was a family affair and showcased the couple and their kids as they skied the slopes during a vacation trip.
Giving Kandi a spinoff is certainly a good move for Bravo as she constantly brings in high ratings for the network.
In 2014 her wedding special brought in 2.4 million viewers in one night – beating out Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak as the highest-rated offshoot show for a Bravo housewife at that time.
Until the new show premieres, you can see Kandi and Todd on episodes of RHOA, airing Sunday nights at 8/7 central on Bravo.
