Kanye West made a rare public appearance this weekend at the BET Awards, and he made a speech that hinted he still hopes for a reconciliation with Kim Kardashian.
Ever Since Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson started dating, Kanye has shown his jealous side and has openly stated he doesn’t like Pete.
While Pete has declared he will be on some episodes of Season 2 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians when it starts filming, it’s safe to say Kanye will not be making any appearances. It does seem that the two have been getting along when it comes to co-parenting their four children, though.
However, just because Kim no longer has any love interest or reconciliation vibes when it comes to Kanye, it doesn’t mean he feels the same way.
Kanye West makes reconciliation comment about his ex, Kim Kardashian
As Kanye has kind of been MIA in public appearances since April, he made a surprise return to the spotlight at the 2022 BET Awards this past Sunday in Los Angeles.
After pulling out of Coachella and getting banned from performing at the Grammys due to his social media attack on Pete, Kanye showed up at the BET Awards to honor the Lifetime Achievement honoree, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In true Kanye form, he had a lengthy speech that included a comment about his ex, Kim, that went viral on Twitter, as he claimed, “I go to [Combs] for advice to this day. He inspires so many of my choices, so many of my life choices. My wife choices. And, here we are. Thanks for that, Puff.”
Kanye had a lot to say at the BET Awards
As Kanye spoke at the BET Awards, he wore a black ski mask over his face, with a hoodie and ball cap pulled way down, as well as a pair of black sunglasses.
Along with his comment about Kim, Kanye also stated he only came out of hiding to honor his friend, brother, and role model, Puff Daddy.
In fact, he stated, “I took a little hiatus. ‘I just want to declare myself legally dead for a year. Nobody missing me. I just want to be off the grid.’” However, he said he needed to be there for Puff Daddy because of all the times Puff had been there for him and others.
Kanye added, saying why Puff Daddy was such an inspiration to him, “Back then there was so many rules to hip-hop, and he broke all of them. …He broke down so many doors about classism, taste, culture, swag. Puff, if I never told you, I love you.”
Whether or not Kanye is planning to go back into hiding after his speech at the BET Awards is yet to be determined, but only time will tell.
The Kardashians Season 1 is currently streaming on Hulu.
