Below Deck star Kyle Dixon’s transgender ex-girlfriend has spoken out about their split — saying the break-up made her whole world come “crashing down”.
Viewers were introduced to Ashley on the hit Bravo show last episode after she flew out to visit the ex-British soldier in the Caribbean during filming.
During the episode she asked him if he would look after her following her gender reassignment surgery, and he said that he would.
The pair have since split, but Ashley told Monsters and Critics they shared a love “that will always be there for one another”.
She said: “Obviously it’s not the easiest thing to be going through right now along with my hormone replacement therapy.
“Despite Kyle and I having been on and off throughout our relationship we have always found a way of making it back to each other.
“We have an unconditional love that will always be there for one another.
“I can’t say what will happen in the future but I will always have a special place in my heart for Kyle and can only hope I have one in his.”
Ashley also posted emotional messages about their break-up on Twitter.
In one message, with pictures of two broken hearts and Kyle’s initials at the end, she said: “When your whole world comes crashing down and all that’s left to do is wipe the tears, take a deep breath and pick up the pieces ? KD ?.”
Another message said: “Mistakes are a part of life. All we can do is hope to learn from them ?.”
Ashley has also since retweeted messages about her appearance on the show, including one saying: “Obsessed with kyles gf! Not many bitches can pull off sassy and beautifully vulnerable. Get it girl #BelowDeck #newbff.”
Another, written to Andy Cohen, who is the executive producer of Real Housewives and Bravo’s former head of development, said: “@Andy give Ashley from #belowdeck a TV show.”
Kyle revealed he was dating Ashley earlier in the season, after meeting her in the gay village area of Manchester, England.
He told chef Ben Robinson, Chief Stew Kate Chastain and Second Stew Emily Warburton-Adams that he found out he was attracted to transgender people “by accident”.
He said: “I was in the army one night and I hooked up [with a transgender woman] by accident and found out I was a bit partial to it.”
He added: “I’m not bothered by sex, gender, sexuality. By experience, I knew I liked effeminate gays and girls, so I thought I was bisexual, but then I realized I quite like transgenders.”
Monsters and Critics has reached out to Ashley for comment.
Below Deck airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
