Tori Roloff has come under fire from Little People, Big World fans for her comments about daughter Lilah’s new glasses.
On this week’s episode of LPBW, fans watched as Tori and Zach Roloff’s daughter, Lilah, 1, found out she needed glasses, hopefully, to avoid future eye surgery.
The toddler had a visit with the eye doctor after Tori and Zach noticed that her eyes were crossing and she had trouble focusing on objects.
After the visit, Tori informed Zach that Lilah was fitted for glasses, and they would be arriving soon in the mail.
Tori repeatedly talked about Lilah’s glasses not being ‘cute’
Tori was not happy about the prospect of their daughter needing to wear glasses, and repeatedly mentioned that it wasn’t “cute.”
When Lilah’s glasses arrived, she brought them to the farm so that Zach could see her try them on for the first time.
As Lilah went to put her glasses on for the first time, Tori remarked, “They’re so — oh, God.”
When dad Zach remarked that Lilah looked cute in her new glasses, Tori asked him, “Does she actually, though?”
LPBW fans didn’t think Tori’s attitude was appropriate towards Lilah’s glasses
On a Reddit thread discussing the episode, users discussed Tori’s reaction to Lilah wearing glasses.
One LPBW fan thought Tori needed to focus on the glasses’ purpose, not being a fashion statement.
“Tori needs to get over the glasses are not cute for babies, they are to help her eyes get better not a fashion statement. I know it’s hard when your baby has something wrong or not perfect but she’s being a little much,” the Reddit user commented.
One fan of the show was “disgusted” with Tori’s behavior. They commented, “Tori disgusts me. There, I said it. She’s literally making fun of her child’s appearance due to a medical issue. I don’t get how anyone ever defends her. She’s such an awful person in so many ways.”
Some fans on Reddit felt that Tori was more concerned with how she’s portrayed on Instagram than correcting Lilah’s vision.
“Of course one of Tori’s main takeaway from the doctor’s appointment is that the glasses are “not cute”. Gotta have your Instagram on point, Tori. Nothing that isn’t cute allowed,” wrote another fan of the show.
Another fan commented on Tori valuing her social media presence over her daughter’s health. They wrote, “That comment about how glasses are “not cute” honestly made me sad. Tori obviously cares more about her Instagram aesthetic than her daughter’s health. If Lilah needs glasses long term and then sees this episode when she gets older…..yikes.”
Did Tori retract her statements?
Tori, who sparked rumors she is expecting baby number three, recently came under fire by fans who claimed the TLC star only had dwarf babies for the “notoriety” and “fame.” Fans felt as though Tori wasn’t prepared emotionally for the possible health risks that often comes along with achondroplasia dwarfism.
Later in the episode during an interview with Zach, Tori did admit that she changed her outlook about Lilah’s glasses.
“I do think they only made her cuter. And I take back everything I thought. But they’re cute. Like, pink is cute. It’s just not my color. Like, clearly, I just you know… we don’t wear a ton of colors in our house,” Tori admitted.
Little People, Big World airs on Tuesday nights at 9/8c on TLC and Discovery Plus.
