After a long eight months in prison, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was finally released back to his home state of New Jersey.
His wife and Jersey Shore castmates were eager to welcome him, but the Jersey Shore crew can’t do anything without overdoing it — and this was no exception.
Last week brought viewers the first glimpse of Mike’s freedom
Last week, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation viewers saw the tearful reunion between Mike and his wife Lauren.
The pair were married just two months before Mike began serving his prison sentence, so they had a very tough first year of marriage.
Lauren, not wanting to be without her husband for too long, made the 200-mile journey from the couple’s home in New Jersey to Otisville Correctional Facility every week.
When the two finally reunited, there were tears, laughs, and a huge (truly extremely massive) pizza party. After eight months of prison food, the Situation had slimmed down quite a bit.
He and Lauren celebrated his release with all the delicious food he couldn’t get behind bars.
The pair were overjoyed to be together again, and they’ve made the most of their time together. They run an online shop, The Situation Store, and just released a podcast together.
The competition
Last week’s reunion was emotional, but this week, we have something more fun to look forward to. Knowing how much Sitch loves food, his Jersey Shore castmates broke up into teams and competed to give him the best welcome home.
There’s Team BDS, made up of Snooki, Deena, and Pauly, who were in charge of the fun foods. “Where’s the anti-Keto aisle?” Pauly asked, poking fun at Vinny the “Keto Guido.”
The trio loaded their carts with cookies, chips, rice balls, and pepperoni. They insisted that no healthy foods enter their cart- their team was all about fun.
Meanwhile, the other team — Team Situation — went the opposite direction. Ronnie, Vinny, and Angelina were banking on Sitch wanting to maintain his new figure, so they stocked up on healthy foods and nutritional supplements.
Their cart was a bit odd — their star items were organic seaweed and turmeric.
Pauly D, ever the competitor, insisted that Team BDS would win. “They have a cart of lettuce,” he said, “we have a cart of fun.”
Viewers will get to see who won the battle of the feast on tonight’s episode.
