The OG of the Atlanta Housewives franchise needs Bravo to cough up more money if they want her to return for Season 13.
Although Nene reportedly made $2.85 million for her stint on the show this season, this figure will have to increase, or she might very well walk away.
A source revealed to Life & Style that Leakes “doesn’t feel like she’s getting the love or the money she deserves.”
How much does Nene expect to get paid?
By all accounts, $2 million is a “pretty penny,” so how much does the OG think she deserves?
Well, she wants her paycheck to be as big as former RHONY alum, Bethenny Frankel’s.
“NeNe recently heard about the astronomical amount of money Bethenny made for the Real Housewives of New York, “and now NeNe just wants what’s hers,” reports AllAboutTRH (via Life & Style).
Another housewife reportedly making more money than the 52-year-old is her co-star Kandi Burrus – the second longest-standing housewife on the RHOA
However, when this information was revealed, Nene made it known that she didn’t care about anyone else’s salary because she was happy with hers.
“When I negotiated my money, I negotiated the money that I wanted.”
She also added, “You can’t worry about the next person, cause that’s gonna mess you up. You know, you’re gonna be thinking about how much money she’s making, $2 more than me… If she is higher-paid than I am, she’s not getting much more than me, baby. It may be $5 more, so she can keep it.”
Nene has been on the fence about returning to RHOA
Just last month, Nene told The Talk that she was still on the fence about whether or not she would return for Season 13.
“I feel like this show is my baby. I started this show. But I also feel like I don’t want to be in a group where everyone is attacking and being very malicious,” she told the women.
Leakes also added, “But you know, every season when the show ends, what me and my team do, we get together and talk about what’s best for me. So, hopefully, Real Housewives is best for me, I don’t know…Yeah, very undecided.”
Well, now it seems that the decision will be up to the head honchos at the Bravo network and whether they choose to meet Nene’s salary demands.
If Nene does decide to leave, it won’t be the first time; she took a hiatus in Season 8 and Season 9, but she reclaimed her peach in Season 10.
We’ll have to wait and see if Bravo will keep her happy or if the controversial housewife will bid us goodbye once again.
For now, you can still see Nene in episodes of RHOA, airing Sunday nights at 8/7c on Bravo.
