Last season, Jen Shah was arrested. She was accused of running a nationwide telemarketing scheme.
To make matters worse, she was accused of targeting senior citizens.
She recently changed her plea to guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, after she maintained her innocence all last season.
Now, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s OG Meredith Marks is opening up about Jen Shah’s legal situation.
Season three of the show has started filming and Jen is still part of the cast, a move that her RHOSLC castmate is sharing her opinion on and it’s safe to say that she doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
On an episode of the podcast, No Filter with Zack Peter, Meredith said, “It’s just very risky [to stay on the show] because whether you are guilty or not, it is so easy to say something that could be spun to incriminate you.”
Meredith Marks says that Jen Shah filming with the RHOSLC cast is scary
Meredith continued the podcast saying, “And I just think it’s kind of scary. I mean I think it’s really gutsy that she stayed on. I do.”
The OG said she would have quit the show if the shoe was on the other foot. She said, “I don’t think I could under those circumstances.”
Meredith said that Jen should be very careful what she shares with the cameras and therefore the rest of the world. She said, “Once you open that door, you can lose a lot of your rights, and that’s very problematic so you have to be very very careful.”
Last year, Meredith was grieving the loss of her father and said she could not be a friend to Jen at the time.
However, she has revealed that the two have been texting a little.
Jen Shah says she is embarrassed and sorry amid legal troubles
The Hawaiian native said multiple times that she is sorry to have put her family in this situation. During last season, she revealed a lot of extended members of her family counted on her. So, she is ashamed to have disappointed them.
Her husband, Coach Shah remained by her side. He said he never suspected his wife was running a scheme.
Jen said she is terrified of not seeing her two boys growing up. Since she entered a plea deal, she will not have to stand trial. However, the OG faces up to 30 years in prison.
She will be sentenced in November of this year.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is currently on hiatus.
