Below Deck Med charter guest Roy Orbison Jr. and his family are appearing on Season 8 of the hit yachting show.
The son of music legend Roy Orbison and his family are huge Bravo fans and have been charter guests on Below Deck Med multiple times.
Like his father, Roy is also a musician and record producer, paving his own path in the music biz while also honoring his famous dad.
Roy and his wife, Asa Hallgren, have been married since 2017 and have four children.
They first appeared on Below Deck Med during Season 5 before Hannah Ferrier was fired. Their two-episode stint included their two oldest children, Roy III and Bo, as well as Ulf Ekberg of Ace of Base.
Roy, Asa, and the boys were back for Season 6 with a new group of friends because they are big fans of Captain Sandy Yawn.
Now, the couple and their kids are paying their favorite captain another visit.
Roy Orbison Jr. returns to Below Deck Med as a charter guest
In a Below Deck Med teaser clip, Max Salvador and Lara Du Preez struggle to get a very heavy tender on board. Bosun Luka Brunton rushes to help as things begin to go awry.
Lara opens up in her confessional about the “big f**king tender” and the crane holding it not being very stable. A flip of the scene shows the tender swaying back and forth as Max tries his best to grab it amid all the chaos.
Meanwhile, Below Deck Med fans get their first glimpse of Roy and his guests. Roy talks about the boat being bouncy at night.
One of Asa and Roy’s boys can be heard in the background, wondering about safety. Roy reassures his son that the crew does what they must to keep everyone safe.
It’s a brief look at the returning charter guest, but one that’s definitely exciting.
This time around, Roy and Asa’s family has grown as they have welcomed two more children since their last appearance on the hit-yachting show.
Below Deck Med charter guests Roy Orbison Jr. and Asa Hallgren expand their family
Since Below Deck Med Season 6, Asa and Roy have welcomed two more sons. Love was born in March 2022, and Sun was born in September 2023.
We know that Season 8 of Below Deck Med was filmed last summer from August to mid-September. That means Love would have only been a few months old during the Orbison family’s latest charter with Captain Sandy Yawn.
So far, there has been plenty of drama on Below Deck Med Season 8, especially with Natalya Scudder and Tumi Mhlongo. As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Natalya not only wants a second chance with Tumi but hints the season does get more fun.
Below Deck Med return charter guest Roy Orbison Jr. and his family don’t bring the drama, but they sure are entertaining.
Are you excited to have Roy back?
