The past season of 90 Day Fiance scored TLC its highest ratings ever for the series so it’s not surprising to learn that the show has been renewed already for Season 7.

So far, the cast for Season 7 has not been announced and it’s not known yet if any couples will be familiar to viewers. What we do know is that TLC is aiming to hit the same big ratings as they did last season, so there should be plenty of drama.

Season 6 of 90 Day Fiance was a huge success, with an average of 2.5 million viewers tuning in each week. However, not all of the couples were successful, with at least three of them splitting up as the season ended.

Colt Johnson and Larissa Dos Santos Lima were easily the most volatile. Colt filed for divorce after their third domestic violence incident that ended with Larissa being carted off to jail.

Their Season 6 rivals, Fernanda Flores and Jonathan Rivera also split. Their romance ended in December with Fernanda leaving Jonathan to pursue a modeling career and claiming that Jonathan wasn’t being honest about why they called it quits.

Ashley Martson and Jay Smith also pulled the plug on their romance, with Ashley filing for divorce on January 11. However, after a huge health scare, Jay flew back to the U.S. to be by Ashley’s side and now, she’s withdrawn the divorce paperwork so it’s possible that they will be staying together.

The incoming Season 7 cast has big shoes to fill but we’re confident they can pull it off.

There’s no word on when Season 7 of 90 Day Fiance will premiere. What we expect is that TLC will begin airing new episodes again in the fall considering that Season 4 premiered in September 2016, Season 5 premiered in October 2017 and Season 6 premiered in October 2018.

There have been reports that the current U.S. government shutdown may have an impact on the premiere date. A recent Page Six report claims that 90 Day Fiance is working to cast the upcoming season but that delays in Visa processing are causing issues.

“It could cause significant delays in visa processing, and it’s going to be a new challenge for reality producers looking to cast the upcoming seventh season,” an insider told Page Six.

“The casting process is going on right now. In a sense, it’s holding up production, because without a locked-down cast, we can’t film, said a source.

“The stories are contingent on a good cast, so it’s harder to find available couples, because it’s following people who have already been approved. The wait is longer.”
