The Brown family of Sister Wives has moved several times since their show first aired, and fans want to know why.
When viewers first met the Brown family, Kody, his wives, and their combined children lived under one roof in Lehi, Utah.
The family was reportedly under investigation for polygamy, as it was a felony in their state at the time, but it has since been decriminalized.
The Browns moved from Utah to Nevada to Arizona
Kody and his family picked up and moved their family from Lehi, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Browns looked to have the perfect situation, living in four separate homes on a shared cul-de-sac.
But in true Kody fashion, he got an idea and couldn’t help but shamelessly plug it to his wives repeatedly. It was another move.
Kody pushed for the family to live together in one home again, but that didn’t go over well, especially with wife number three, Christine.
When Kody got an itch to move yet again, the family ended up transplanting from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona.
Kody’s older kids took the move pretty hard, especially his and Janelle’s son, Gabriel. Janelle has since said that her kids have adjusted to Flagstaff and enjoy living there.
Now that the Browns are in Flagstaff, they’re still living separately but spread 10-15 minutes apart from each other, while Janelle is currently living in an RV on the family’s property at Coyote Pass.
A Reddit post asked followers of the show, “Why did the Browns move 15 times? The kids never had a chance to put down roots? Or did they stay in the same community and schools? We’re they skipping out on rent, moving in the middle of the night? I don’t get it.”
One Sister Wives viewer answered the post and commented, “Because they are extremely unhappy lol ?”
“Like, I understand moving from Utah, but moving from LV? I think, for the most part, it’s Kody not knowing how to set down roots,” commented another fan of Sister Wives.
One Reddit user thought impulses coupled with financial issues were to blame. “I think it’s a mix of lack of impulse control and mortgage/loan increases coming due,” the fan said.
The Browns are still living separately and have yet to break ground at Coyote Pass
Meri still rents an expansive, million-dollar home and splits her time between Flagstaff and Parowan, Utah, where she’s been running her B&B since her mother’s passing.
Janelle recently moved into an RV on Coyote Pass after her rental home was listed for sale and quickly found a buyer.
Christine owns her home in Flagstaff, where she lives with daughters Gwendlyn, Ysabel and Truely.
Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn, co-owns her enormous home with Kody. Most fans believe that Kody spends most of his time at Robyn’s house since their kids are still young — and there are still many fans who think Robyn was plotting all along to be Kody’s only wife.
We’ll just have to wait and see if the Browns’ dream of living together on Coyote Pass comes true or not.
Sister Wives is currently on hiatus.
