The biological daughter of Sister Wives stars Kody and Meri Brown has come out as transgender and revealed their new name.
Kody and Meri’s only biological child, formerly known as Mariah Lian Brown, announced the big change on June 28 via social media.

Taking to their Instagram (very aptly during Pride Month), the caption of their post began, “Someone recently told me that i didn’t have to have all of my s**t figured out in order for me to share myself with the world.” They stood in front of a set of double doors for the photo, sporting a white, button-down shirt paired with shorts and sandals.
They continued, “So here’s me, definitely not having almost any of my s**t figured out, to let you know that i am trans. my name is Leon or Leo (i love both) and my pronouns are they/them.”
Next, they explained that the first time they experienced a gender disparity was at a young age: “I remember the first time that i knew i wasn’t a girl. i was pretty young & unfortunately i grew up in a context that was incredibly gendered & restrictive. so i continued to be socialized as a girl & later a woman. and here’s the thing, i’m finally ready to share my favorite self with the world. and that self is incredibly genderqueer, trans, and unapologetic.”
“Being queer & trans are definitely some of my favorite parts of myself. and yet, there are so many things that i am learning to love about myself through this process,” their caption continued. “Here’s to me getting to know myself, share myself, and continually evolve to be the person i am, to be my favorite self in all contexts.”
“**I’m sharing this part of myself to let folks in, and also to set some boundaries. if you choose to not use my correct name or pronouns, then you do not need to speak to or about me. my name is Leo or Leon, and my pronouns are they/them. please only refer to me in that way**” Leon concluded their caption.
Leon received plenty of support in the comments section from their 155K Instagram followers.

Another one of Leon’s supporters commented, “I love your boundaries!! So proud of you!!” while another comment read, “Sounds like that person was on a journey of self healing themselves. Proud of you for being true to you sweet friend, Leo. ?”
Michelle Petty, fiancée of Kody and Janelle Brown’s son Logan Brown, showed her support: “Love you so much Leon!!???”
Leon’s news comes on the heels of their partner, Audrey Kriss, coming out as transgender in December 2021. Leon and Audrey have been engaged since 2019 and have yet to announce any wedding plans.
