A new promo for The Bachelorette teases that five guys may leave after Katie Thurston cleans house. Who will say their final goodbyes as the season hits its midway point?
A montage of clips from the beginning of the season through its current halfway point features Katie and her contestants as they admit what they want and don’t want from their Bachelorette experience.
“To win Katie’s heart, some guys will say anything,” teases the promo. “No one’s ready for five surprise exits. And who they are we just can’t say.”
One of the men claims that Hunter is phony and when asked if he felt like he was in love with Katie, Hunter replied, “I don’t think I’m in a place right now,” which was quickly interspersed with a separate clip where he said he was falling in love.
“The whole house is in shock,” Greg Grippo admitted.
“I knew saying goodbye was hard, I just didn’t expect it to be this hard,” said a tearful Katie. “I’m looking for my person and my person may have just left this house.”
What could have happened?
While details are sketchy on what actually goes down on this episode, there are certain things that occurred at the beginning of the season that could have changed Katie’s view of the men.
Hunter’s aggressive behavior could very well be the one thing that does him in. He appears to have one face he shows to Katie and another to the rest of the men. While she has not picked up on that yet, it could be the thing that sends him home.
Fan-favorite Greg Grippo is still bothered by Katie being with other men. Although sweet in nature, his attitude towards the process could be a reason he may choose to leave the show on his own and not be eliminated by Katie.
Greg is hurt watching Katie get close to other guys and even though she claimed she has fallen for him, their burgeoning feelings for one another may not be enough to keep their relationship afloat.
Michael Allio has also won Katie’s heart but being away from his son for so long has shifted his focus more towards his family and less toward remaining on the series. It remains to be seen if he leaves the show to return to his son or if he sticks it out until the end.
What else can viewers expect from the episode?
After narrowing down her suitors to the remaining dozen, Katie is looking to see who is determined enough to stay according to the show’s official site. While the guys in the house see if they can keep their promise, one lucky man opens up to Katie with vows of his own in a ceremonious one-on-one date.
Katie then enlists two queens, RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars winners Shea Couleé and Monét X Change, to help find her a king in a group date that is sure to bring some royal tension.
A one-on-one date becomes a two-on-two, with a special double date featuring Bachelor Nation power couple Kaitlyn Bristowe and (her now fiancé) Jason Tartick. But does Kaitlyn and Jason’s connection make Katie question her own?
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
