Following his recently revealed split from Safiyya Vorajee, The Challenge alum Ashley Cain was seen with former Love Island star Kaz Crossley, leading to quick speculation they might be seeing one another.
A simple online photo featuring the two next to one another sparked speculation that they were together. Cain also left a comment that may have had people wondering about their situation.
However, even though there is no actual proof that Ashley and Crossley are dating, it’s since led to “hate messages” from upset individuals online.
Photo sparks Ashley Cain and Kaz Crossley dating speculation
Kazimir “Kaz” Crossley, a former Love Island UK 4 contestant, recently hit the gym for a workout session. That training session also featured The Challenge star Ashley Cain at the gym, along with celebrity fitness trainer Michael Griffiths.
Crossley, 28, shared a couple of photos on her official Instagram page from her workout. The first shows a photographer snapping pics as Crossley leans over a workout bench with her hands on a pair of large dumbells.
The second photo is what caught people’s attention, though, as it has her posing all smiles next to the 31-year-old Ashley Cain.
“Shoot vibes today with my @gymking family ??? Brand new colourways in the ‘Formation’ gym-set launching soon!” Kaz wrote in the caption.
Michael Griffiths also showed love to the “squad” appearing in the second photo.
Crossley says she received ‘hate messages’ after photo
According to The Sun, Cain, Crossley, and Mitchell are ambassadors for a gym clothing company, which is the reason behind their shoot together.
However, when some fans saw Cain with Crossley, they began attacking the Love Island star. Per The Sun’s report, she took to Instagram this week to clear things up.
“We are friends but after our work shoot the other day I’ve been getting hate messages saying I’m trying to get with him,” Crossley wrote. “I’ve always supported his cause and likewise him with my kids in Thailand. People are so quick to tear each other down it’s sad.”
Cain had recently announced his split from Safiyya Vorajee “following a devastating and heartbreaking year.” In Cain’s message about the breakup, he revealed it had occurred months ago, but they chose to keep things private for a bit.
“The past few months have demonstrated that we remain the closest of friends, spending time together everyday and that we will love, care and support each other forever,” Cain said.
The couple had an eight-month-old daughter together, Azaylia, who passed away in April 2021 after her battle with a rare form of leukemia. They also formed The Azaylia Foundation to support children who have cancer and need assistance to “access treatment not readily available from the NHS.”
A former Ex on the Beach cast member, Cain was a competitor during MTV’s The Challenge: War of the Worlds. He hasn’t returned after that one appearance. Following the tragic passing of his daughter, he’s dedicated himself to tackling other challenges, including boxing matches and cycling.
The Challenge Season 38 is TBA for MTV. The Challenge: All Stars 3 premieres on May 11 on Paramount Plus.
