General Hospital has been carrying on with this baby switch for several months now. As Michael (Chad Duell) grieves for the loss of his child (who is still very much alive!), the pieces are slowly coming together.
A lot has happened this week on General Hospital with the baby storyline and that leaves hope that it could be unraveling by the time February sweeps begins. With only six weeks before that happens, fans are speculating about who will figure it all out.
Liesl visits Nelle
After managing to get released without paying for her crimes against Peter (Wes Ramsey), Liesl (Kathleen Gati) finds out that Michael’s baby “died” from Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Immediately, she knows this is not the case. Remember, Liesl ran into Nelle (Chloe Lanier) while she was in labor in the woods while keeping Peter captive.
It was never confirmed that Liesl delivered Nelle’s baby, but that is likely what happened. There is no way she could have done it on her own and their chance meeting wasn’t coincidental. Now, she is headed to prison to visit Nelle next week on General Hospital.
Could this be the redemption Liesl Obrecht needs to become more human and less heartless?
Willow is the birth mother
When Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) entered the scene, there were a lot of questions about why the General Hospital writers brought her in. Now, it all makes sense. On Friday’s episode of the show, it was confirmed that she was the birth mother of the baby who died.
Her conversation with Julian (Williams deVry) tugged at the heartstrings. Willow regrets giving up her son, and when she finds out the truth, everything will get a hundred times worse. Unfortunately, when Michael learns his son is alive, the bond growing between him and Willow will be tested.
The best case scenario is she will be around to help Michael raise Jonah once it is discovered. With the way things are headed, that is likely.
The fallout
The collateral damage that was caused by Nelle’s lie is going to be devastating for so many Port Charles residents. Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen) will likely split for good. Julian is going to be in big trouble for interfering and keeping Brad’s secret.
Willow will have to mourn her baby all over again and Michael will have lost time with his son. The Corinthos and Spencer families will be turned upside down.
It looks like February sweeps will be what viewers have to look forward to regarding this storyline.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
