Is Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) leaving The Young and the Restless? That is a question on fans’ minds these days. Cait Fairbanks has only appeared on the CBS daytime drama a handful of times since January when Tessa left to go on tour with her ex-husband, Tanner (Chase Coleman).
There was no specific reason given for why Y&R chose to have Tessa go on tour. Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa were a good place in their relationship. In the soap world, a happy relationship doesn’t last long, and that appears to be what the writers had in mind when having Tessa leave Genoa City.
Mariah betrays Tessa
Long-distance has taken a toll on Mariah and Tessa’s romance. Life on the road has not been easy for Tessa, especially being in close quarters with her ex-husband. Mariah is dealing with losing her job and her mom’s cancer, all without the woman she loves by her side.
Tessa and Mariah have had several misconnections, including one where Tanner answered Tessa’s phone when she was in the shower. That did not sit well with Mariah at all. She has been leaning on Lindsay (Kirby Bliss Blanton) while dealing with all of her problems.
Based on spoilers for this week on the CBS soap opera, Mariah has sex with Lindsay and Tessa walks in not long after the deed is done. The betrayal will have a lasting impact on Tessa and Mariah’s relationship. It is also adding fuel to the fire with speculation that Tessa is leaving the Young and the Restless.
Is Tessa leaving?
There has been no indication from CBS or Cait that the character of Tessa is permanently exiting the show. The fallout of Mariah cheating is going to create a lot of drama between the couple.
It appears based on the storyline, Tessa’s absence from the soap opera was strictly for creative reasons. A little shakeup in a loving romance is classic soap opera drama. They were getting a bit too cozy, so of course, the writers needed to blow up the relationship.
Fans shouldn’t worry that Tessa and Cait are leaving the show. Tessa loves Mariah and vice versa. Despite the cheating scandal, these two will likely find their way back to each other.
While Tessa may go back out on tour to deal with Mariah’s betrayal, it would be shocking if her leaving was for good. The daytime drama has found an excellent pairing in Tessa and Mariah. They just needed a little hurdle in their relationship.
Then again it is a soap opera, and anything is possible. Cait Fairbanks could be leaving and taking the character of Tessa with her. Fans are just going to have to watch to find out what happens with Tessa, as well as her relationship with Mariah.
