The Young and the Restless spoilers for the Wednesday, October 24, 2018 episode of the CBS soap tease that we have a major throwback in the works as the Abbott family regresses, er, flashes back to better times.
The sudser is showcasing an inventive storyline as it flashes back to the 1970s. In fact, there will be fresh faces playing the characters that we’ve come to know and love.
Young Dina (Marla Adams) will be portrayed by Cathy Marks. And of course we need a young John, so actor Jonathan Stoddard will appear as the young titan in training. We’ll also see the Abbott kids, before all the adult fussing and feuding started about who has Abbott blood coursing through their veins.
Graham Taylor plays young Jack Abbott, and Julia D’Arcy Badinger gets to play the part of still-innocent Ashley (Eileen Davidson). Portraying the always-sensible Traci (Beth Maitland) is Valentina Sky Gordon.
Of course, there’s a reason for the look back in fondness, not anger. Over the years, the family has been ripped apart by revelations that Ashley is not a blood Abbott, something that she has never gotten over.
In fact, the slinky blonde recently took it upon herself to deceive everyone in Genoa City into believing that Jack is not a blood Abbott either. This netted her top dog position at Jabot, a role she coveted but could not have. There was that pesky blood Abbott clause that excluded anyone not 100% pure from ascending the throne.
Last week, her horrid scheme unraveled and the truth finally came out, leaving her a shattered but defiant hot mess. Shunned but not ostracized, poor Ashley threw a mighty pity party.
But just in time, Dina comes through and reveals a whopper of a secret about Ashley from the past that changes everything. Be sure to tune in and find out what becomes of the Abbott family and where they go from here!
Elsewhere, Cane (Daniel Goddard) receives jaw-dropping news.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS and in the evening on PopTV.
