Steve Carell and Greg Daniels, who brought you the American version of hit series The Office, announced an upcoming series, Space Force, which will be released by Netflix.
The namesake and plot of Space Force takes its inspiration from President Donald Trump, who proposed a sixth branch of the military of the same name.
The short teaser trailer states that the series will follow the creation of the Space Force, which is set to “defend satellites from attack” or “perform other space-related tasks.”
The plot of the series is “the story of the men and women who have to figure it out,” according to the trailer.
When will Space Force be coming to Netflix?
Space Force doesn’t have an official release date, but it will be coming to the streaming platform “soon,” according to the teaser trailer Netflix has released. Therefore, the series will likely premiere in the first quarter of 2019.
The cast will include Steve Carrell, who also serves as an executive producer.
The series is a comedy and will likely follow the everyday lives of the Space Force employees in a similar fashion to The Office. The Netflix teaser also implies that the series will follow a similar formula.
The Office, which Greg Daniels also developed, is one of the most commonly streamed series on Netflix. However, The Office is owned by NBC Universal, and the streaming giant has to pay a hefty licensing fee.
Netflix will likely announce a release date, cast, and full-length trailer later this year.
