Stella Artois has released a brand new commercial for their Super Bowl 2019 spot and it’s a perfect combination of both the feminine audience enjoying a beer and the fanbase from The Big Lebowski.
In the commercial, Sarah Jessica Parker walks into a bar in what appears to be New York, playing the role of Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. In the bar, the waiter asks her if she’s having her usual cosmopolitan, but she changes it up and orders a Stella Artois.
In the background, the live band in the bar is playing the theme song from Sex and the City, but as she orders the beer, the band shockingly stops playing and the waiter at a nearby table drops the food in shock.
As a cosmopolitan is coming out from the bar, the server is immediately
As Carrie enjoys her Stella Artois, the door opens and The Dude from The Big Lebowski walks in. He almost steps on the food on the ground and walks up to the bar with the comments, “wild night.”
The bartender asks him if he wants a White Russian, but he refuses, asking instead for a Stella Artois with a humorous pronunciation.
Again, the bartenders and servers are shocked, as he’s also changing up the usual order. The Dude sits down at the table next to Carrie, who taps him on the shoulder to say “good choice” in beer.
He replies to her, saying, “change can do a little good.”
It’s the perfect Super Bowl commercial for both the female audience, who loves glam and fun and for the dedicated audience, who were all hoping that The Big Lebowski was coming back for a sequel.
The Super Bowl airs on Sunday, February 3 at 6:30/5:30c on CBS.
