Season 5 of The Blacklist ended with a huge shocker – the person who claimed to be Raymond Reddington was actually just an imposter. The duffle bag full of bones he had been carrying around throughout the season turned out to be the real Raymond Reddington.
This raises so many new questions about the new season, which premieres tonight on NBC. Is Raymond really Liz’s biological father? Or is the imposter Liz’s real father, who just used Reddington’s identity as a cover-up for some reason? And what happens now that Liz can’t trust the man, who claimed to be someone else for five years?
During the preview for the Season 6 of The Blacklist, Reddington is arrested and he’s told that he’s facing execution for all the crimes he has committed. Before creating The Blacklist team, he was on the FBI’s Most Wanted list for three decades.
During this week’s double-episode premiere, Raymond is arrested and Liz is confused as to how to handle everything.
Should she stay civil with him in order to take him down, or should she tell him that she’s working against him to take him down, using his own weaknesses and secrets against him? That’s the answer that will surface throughout this upcoming season.
And just because Raymond is locked up doesn’t mean Liz is safe. Over the holiday season, actress Megan Boone posted a photo of herself in makeup, revealing that perhaps Liz is beaten up once again on the show.
Fans commented on the photo, asking what was happening on the show and who the culprit was. Clearly, those answers and more will be revealed on the show.
Raymond Reddington is played by James Spader and Megan Boone plays the role of Elizabeth Keen. Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Hisham Tawfiq, Amir Arison, and Mozhan Marno also join the list of cast members for Season 6.
The Blacklist returns to NBC tonight with a two-night Season 6 premiere starting Thursday at 10/9c and continues Friday at 9/8c on NBC.
