The TV ratings are in for the fall finale of The Conners, and the Roseanne spin-off saw a slight increase in viewers for the latest episode. Episode 8 of the show featured a number of guest stars, including Katey Sagal and Mathew Broderick.
The great news is that The Conners ratings improved with Season 1 Episode 8. Last week, saw a season low when an estimated 6.63 million viewers tuned in to watch Episode 7. The show also had a 1.3 mark in the 18-49 demographic.
For the latest episode, ABC drew an estimated 6.67 million viewers and a 1.4 mark in the key demographic. Breaking down the numbers, that’s a 5.26 percent increase in the demographic that advertisers care about the most.

Good news and bad news with The Conners ratings
It’s good news that more viewers from the key demographic tuned in for the new episode. It’s always a good sign when numbers trend in the right direction for a show. Maybe the show can build on that during the midseason episodes on ABC.
There is also some bad news in this situation. The Conners total viewers aren’t impressive when compared to the other Tuesday night programming. The show is far behind NCIS, on CBS, and The Voice, on NBC, when it comes to overall viewership numbers.
Maybe the overall numbers can get overlooked, as the key demographic is really split on Tuesday nights. For the latest episodes, The Voice and The Conners had a 1.4 mark, while NCIS was at 1.3 in the 18-49 age group. That can be viewed as a win for ABC.

It’s very clear that The Conners ratings will have this as a bubble show when it comes to renewals this year. Since the salaries of three of its stars are at more than $1 million in combined per episode, it is also a very expensive show to produce. John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, and Laurie Metcalf each make $350,000 per episode.
Are these viewership numbers good enough to warrant The Conners Season 2?
The Conners airs Tuesday nights at 8/7 on ABC.
