The Mandalorian Season 2 cast has gained actor Rosario Dawson, who many Netflix Marvel fans will be quite familiar with.
Dawson has been revealed to take on the role of Ahsoka Tano, a beloved character from Star Wars lore in the new season of the Disney Plus series.
Rosario Dawson joins Mandalorian Season 2 cast
Actress Rosario Dawson is known by comic book fans who watched the various Netflix Marvel shows, including Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
Viewers know her as Claire, the nurse who helped patch up the various superheroes trying to battle the bad guys in the Hell’s Kitchen and other NYC areas.
She also had a relationship with Luke Cage and was a common link between The Defenders (Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist).
Now, she’ll join a different sort of project, as a character on the popular Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian.
Dawson will play Ahsoka Tano, who has yet to appear in a live-action show or movie.
The exclusive news arrived via a SlashFilm report, which says that Dawson will portray the fan-favorite that was seen in animated shows, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels.

In the Star Wars lore, Ahsoka was a Jedi Padawan (apprentice) to none other than Anakin Skywalker. Anakin later turned into Darth Vader, and Ahsoka also went on a different path in terms of her story.
After learning from Anakin, she became a strong leader in her own right and played a significant role in the Clone Wars.
That’s the case for the final season of the animated show. Fans can see animated Ahsoka in the official teaser trailer below.
It’s worth noting that Ahsoka Tano was part of The Rise of Skywalker movie that hit theaters last December.
However, it was merely a vocal cameo as she was amongst the Jedi voices talking to Rey during her battle versus the evil Palpatine.
It’s possible she’ll tie into The Mandalorian Season 2 plot in some way related to The Child’s origin, or play a part in the story of that Darksaber everyone saw in the first season’s final episode.
The Mandalorian Season 2 details
Right now, there’s not a whole lot more known as far as The Mandalorian Season 2 plot. Fans can rest assured that the show will return, as it was clearly the biggest hit on the new Disney Plus platform.
An Instagram post revealed a wrap on production for Season 2 episode or episodes.
It’s also a safe bet that The Child, better known as Baby Yoda, will be back alongside Mando (Pedro Pascal).
In addition, a report earlier this month indicated that series creator Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will direct episodes in Season 2.
So will Carl Weathers, the actor who played Greef Karga, the leader of the bounty hunter guild.
Most likely, Karga will show up again along with mercenary Cara Dune (Gina Carano), who confirmed her return in an Instagram post (below).
Fans are also hoping to see the return of the villain Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and that special weapon he has.
There’s no official release date yet for the second season, but most likely, it will arrive in October of this year.
The Mandalorian is currently available on-demand on Disney Plus for streaming, with Season 2 TBA.
