Found out last night about @adamlevine leaving The Voice & while I get that he’s been doing the show 4 a while & wants to step away, it will be weird showing up 4 work & he’s not there ? To start an amazing show from the ground up is a big deal!

Blake Shelton is now the only one of the original four judges that launched the reality singing completion that will return for The Voice Season 17. The original four coaches were Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green.
Shelton is returning in Season 17, with John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson, while Gwen Stefani will return to replace Levine.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are dating, so Shelton should be happy to have her back.
Levine’s departure came after he was the focus of a controversy involving his contestants Reagan Strange, 14, and DeAndre Nico, 22. Both were up for elimination and were competing for an “instant save.” But Strange could not perform because she fell ill. After Nico’s performance, Levine shocked everyone when he declared that he wanted people to vote for Strange.
Fans have also been speculating that his departure was due to his dissatisfaction with recent changes in rules and format of the show. It was also rumored that he did not like that the fact that the show appears to favors country musicians.
Season 17 format
The change in format in Season 16 in which the knockout rounds were eliminated and cross battles introduced will not be retained. The show will return to the traditional format which includes a knockout round, according to TV Guide.
