Tyler Perry’s new show for TLC, Too Close To Home, will premiere on August 22.
The 8-part drama, TLC’s first scripted series, will start with a two-hour first episode airing at 9pm ET/PT.
It tells the story of a woman who grew up on a trailer park, then hides her past as she makes her way in the world of politics in Washington DC.
But when the truth about Anna (Danielle Savre) is revealed, the story is huge and the media can’t get enough — helped by the fact she has been getting close to a political Mr Big.
As a result there’s only one place she can run to as she seeks refuge from the storm — the town of Happy Alabama where she grew up.
But she has to make amends with the family she shunned to pursue her career — including her controlling mom Jolene (Trisha Rae Stahl) and two sisters, Shelby (Brooke Anne Smith) and Bonnie (Kelly Sullivan).
And it’s not only Washington DC where there’s drama, as Anna soon finds out.
Too Close To Home also guest-stars Heather Locklear and Matt Battaglia.
Other regular cast members include social media celebrity Brock O’Hurn, who became an overnight sensation on Instagram thanks to his beard, muscles and man-bun, as well as Young & the Restless star Kelly Sullivan, Letters to God star Brad Benedict and Brooke Anne Smith of MTV’s Awkward.
