During last night’s performance on The Voice, the contestants faced one another in battles to see who would continue on their journey on the show. When DeAndrea Nico and Funsho performed together, viewers were blown away!
The judges also spoke about how they thought the duo were amazing.
DeAndrea Nico and Funsho sang New Edition’s Can You Stand The Rain. The two complemented each other so well and stayed true to New Edition, so much so that Jennifer Hudson told them that they reminded her of the legendary R&B group.
You can see the performance that everyone is talking about this morning below.
After the performance, it was DeAndrea Nico who was picked by Adam to go on. Just as Funsho was giving thanks to the judges for giving him a chance, Blake Shelton decided to steal him, giving him a second chance in the competition.

DeAndre Nice and Funsho could have recorded this as their own record. Great performances from both. So much emotion and such fluid vocals. Enjoyed them both AND they both stay. Yay! #TheVoice #VoiceBattles #TeamAdam #TeamBlake

DeAndrea Nico is 22 and lives in Beaumont, Texas. Music has been a part of his life since he was just a little boy. His earliest memories involve playing drums, piano, and singing in school. His The Voice bio reveals that he considered life normal up until Hurricane Harvey devastated his hometown of Port Arthur, Texas.
His battle companion Funsho is 29 and is from Lanham, Maryland. He’s originally from Lagos, Nigeria, but moved to America at the age of seven.
His mother won the Green Card lottery, meaning the family had to move fast when they emigrated. Music has always been a part of his family, and his sisters were part of the church choir. But Funsho didn’t pursue music until he was in college and started performing at open mic nights. He’s now on a mission to make music his full-time career in Los Angeles.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
