The Walking Dead return can now be placed on our calendars. AMC revealed its midseason schedule, letting viewers of TWD know when it is time to tune in for the new episodes.

Season 9 has already had quite a few notable events take place. The character of Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) took part in his final episode, while Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) went off to find a different life.

It was revealed later that Rick will return in TWD movies. It’s possible that Maggie could return as well, as she is just off at another community, but still alive in the AMC world.

Then, during the fall finale, Jesus (Tom Payne) died at the hands of the Whisperers. That scene provided a shift for the show and left viewers on a bit of a cliffhanger.

When does The Walking Dead return for new Season 9 episodes?

AMC has announced that the next new episode of The Walking Dead will air on Sunday, February 10. The show will return to its familiar 9/8c time slot, with a lot of ground to cover in the final Season 9 episodes. Several big characters from the comic books are about to make some key appearances.

The leaders of the Whisperers, named Alpha and Beta, have already filmed scenes for the program. Actress Samantha Morton will play Alpha, and there are some fan rumors that her character was already shown among the walkers. Actor Ryan Hurst will play Beta, and he is featured in the midseason trailer.

There are a total of 16 The Walking Dead episodes for Season 9. Eight have already been shown, with eight more coming out on the midseason schedule. When The Walking Dead returns on February 10, viewers want to see answers about Negan’s escape, who killed Jesus, and where the helicopter went.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC this winter.
