Spoiler alert: Friday July 6 is National Fried Chicken Day and General Hospital is celebrating with a soaptastic guest appearance by veteran actor George Hamilton as the legendary Colonel Sanders, proud purveyor of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
George, aka the Extra Crispy Colonel, is the current KFC spokesperson. Do you think the Colonel will ruffle some feathers in Port Chuck this Fry-day? Chances are good the Colonel wouldn’t dare lay an egg!
In fact, he’s been burning up the KFC’s Twitter account with a hilarious stream of pithy observations about some of your Port Charles faves.

What does the Colonel think of Nelle (Chloe Lanier)? Harpy!
In fact, if I didn’t know better, the Colonel and Nelle share a –gasp– scandalous past:
“I wish Michael and Nelle all the very worst. And I hope their wedding planning is a long, drawn-out trail of misery, and you know why, Nelle. You know why!!!”
The bearded gent shows he’s on top of his soap game by clucking out this astute insight to Carly (Laura Wright) on her suspect shrink: “I don’t know, Carly. There’s something fishy about Kevin. And that goes for all Kevins everywhere, every time.”
Who is this awesome actor behind the Colonel’s façade who knows so much about GH? George is a diehard GH fan, so his love of the show comes naturally. The Tennessee native has starred in dozens of film and television projects but it’s his ever-present tan that people love to talk about.
George made his acting debut in 1959 on The Donna Reed Show and has been in demand through the decades. He was a regular on Dynasty in the 80’s, appeared on CBS sudser The Bold and the Beautiful in 1994, and more recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars (2006), I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! (2009), 2 Broke Girls ( 2016) and American Housewife (2017).
As you can see GH, George, and The Colonel have been having loads of soapy fun in the run-up to this eggs-tra special guest role.
Be sure to tune in and find out eggs-actly what George Hamilton as The Extra Crispy Colonel gets up to Friday July 6 on General Hospital!
