Piff the Magic Dragon returned to the America’s Got Talent stage on September 11. During another results show for the program, producers brought back some acts from past seasons to fill in the time.
New viewers to the NBC reality competition show may not be aware that Piff was on a prior season. He ended up returning last summer to take part in the champions installment that magician Shin Lim ended up winning.
For viewers who are familiar with his act, this was a nice treat to see Piff on the big stage again. There is a reason that he keeps succeeding at putting on shows around the country.
Who is Piff the Magic Dragon from America’s Got Talent?
During Season 10 of America’s Got Talent (summer 2015), John van der Put took the stage dressed up as a dragon. He was joined by Mr. Piffles, a chihuahua in a dragon costume. That would remain part of his act.
A performance starring Piff, Mr. Piffles, AGT judge Heidi Klum, and host Nick Cannon is shared below. It’s well worth watching for anyone who hasn’t seen the act before.
Though Piff the Magic Dragon did not win during his two seasons of America’s Got Talent, he hasn’t really needed the money. Following his Season 10 appearance on the show, he became a resident act at The Flamingo in Las Vegas.
The Flamingo even renamed its theater in honor of its new performer, calling it The Piff the Magic Dragon Theater. Bringing him back for a quick act during another season of AGT was definitely a treat for the viewers and especially for new fans of the program.
Piff is now assisted on stage by Jade Simone, known as The Girl with the Dragon To Do List, and Francis The Squire, known as The Eunuch in a Tunic.
America’s Got Talent airs Tuesday and Wednesday at 8/7c on NBC.
