Rottweiler performed on last night’s episode of The Masked Singer, alongside Fox, Ladybug, Flower, and Tree. He once again got the chance to showcase his voice and impress the judges and the audience on the Season 2 episode of the show, titled Triumph over Masks.
Rottweiler performed a beautiful cover of Ed Sheeran’s Castle on the Hill. He got a standing ovation from the judges — Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy — and the audience.
McCarthy said she was blown away by his performance and that it was the “best performance of the entire show.”
Even Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, who was the guest panelist on last night’s episode of the show, was impressed. Triumph joked that he was Rottweiler’s dad and that he never thought he would ever see the pup again after walking out on his mother.
“But in my defense, you were a very ugly baby,” he added.
Rottweiler also presented a portrait of Triumph. He said he loved Triumph so much and that he created the portrait hoping Triumph would sign it for a fellow pup, “or his son.”
Triumph said he would be honored to sign it and joked that he would make sure that Jeong also signed it so that it won’t have much resale value.
The painting offered a clue that Rottweiler was a multi-talented person.
Rottweiler clues
Rottweiler offered new clues on last night’s episode of the show.
He said that when he started the Masked Singer competition he did not imagine he would make it this far. He said he was grateful for all the love he’s received on the show. Rottweiler went on to say he did not take a “conventional route to stardom.”
The video appeared to show him selling a vacuum cleaner. He later held up a North Carolina mini-flag.
Rottweiler added that he went through difficult times early in life but he has no regrets because the challenges “led me to every real opportunity I’ve had, on-screen and off.”
The video also showed him walking into a crime scene with a chalk outline of a body on the ground. This suggested to some of the judges that he was an actor who played a detective role in a movie or show.
The chalk outline appeared to have a boxer or wrestler’s title belt around the middle, with the word “Champ.”
Rottweiler is then shown doing the robot dance. He bragged he won’t be taking off his mask any time soon.

The judges guess
The judges then offered their guesses.
Jeong thought Rottweiler was from North Carolina and guessed he could be Gavin DeGraw. Scherzinger suggested it could be the Glee star, Darren Criss.
McCarthy said that if Rottweiler painted the portrait of Triumph then he must be a good artist. She then suggested he could be James Franco. She said she knew that Franco also paints.
Fans think he is Chris Daughtry
Based on the clues Rottweiler has offered so far, fans took to Twitter to guess who might be behind the mask.
Fans were almost unanimous that Rottweiler is Chris Daughtry, the lead singer of the band Daughtry. Daughtry’s fans argued that besides the North Carolina reference, the singer’s voice gave him away.
Many said that Rottweiler sounded exactly like their favorite singer.
