The NCIS cast is joined by actor Mitch Pileggi on an all-new episode. Pileggi plays Secretary of Defense Wynn Crawford, an important role on a show such as this one.

It’s going to be an exciting case that the NCIS team works on in the first midseason episode. Typically it takes a lot for the Secretary of Defense to get involved, and that is exactly what is about to take place.

According to CBS, United States Secretary of Defense Wynn Crawford (Mitch Pileggi) shuts down Gibbs’ murder investigation and demands that Special Agents McGee and Torres be arrested for their actions in the case. The episode synopsis underscores the drama that the NCIS team has to deal with.

Who is Wynn Crawford on NCIS cast?

Actor Mitch Pileggi, who takes on the role of Wynn Crawford, is a very recognizable man. He is probably best-known for his role as Walter Skinner on The X-Files. Pileggi played that part for years, including in the movie and on the re-start of the hit television show.

Pileggi has also been seen as Ernest Darby on Sons of Anarchy, as Harris Ryland on the Dallas reboot, and on a recent episode of Blue Bloods.

He has also made stops on Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural, and Medium. Now, the NCIS cast gets a great actor, even if his spin on the show doesn’t last long.

In addition to Mitch Pileggi joining the NCIS cast, many familiar names are also back for the new episode.

That includes Mark Harmon as Gibbs, Sean Murray as McGee, Emily Wickersham as Bishop, and Wilmer Valderrama as Torres. Maria Bello (Sloane), Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer), Diona Reasonover (Kasie), Rocky Carroll (Vance), and David McCallum (Ducky) also receive episode credits.

NCIS airs Tuesday nights at 8/7c on CBS.
