Netflix’s latest mother-daughter drama Ginny and Georgia is a complete powerhouse. The series has been a hot topic of discussion due to their recent controversy involving singer Taylor Swift and the show’s ability to command the attention of a vast audience.
It has now been trending in the number one slot of most-popular programs on Netflix in the U.S. for weeks and the buzz doesn’t seem to be dying down.
The series introduces tons of new faces and some familiar ones — in the Canadian entertainment world, at least. One question many fans are wondering is: Who plays young Georgia in the flashback scenes in Ginny and Georgia.
Where have you seen her before?
Playing teenage Georgia Miller is actor Nikki Roumel. Previously, Roumel has starred in single episodes of Paranormal Witness, Designated Survivor, and Holly Hobbie. Ginny and Georgia marks her biggest project as she was featured in nine of the ten episodes in the series. She was not seen in the season finale.
Fans can expect to see her in Season 2 if the show gets renewed, as portions of Georgia’s backstory have gone unexplored and remains unclear.
What has Nikki Roumel been saying?
Roumel has been active on her Instagram account— where she links her Cameo account in her biography. Also in her description box, she calls herself an “INFJ [introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging] Wanderer” and states that she’s ready for her next adventure.”
Recently, she posted about “missing” her Ginny and Georgia trailer along with a picture of her smiling into a mirror.
She also uses her Instagram account to post about animals and traveling. She has pictures posing with animals such as goats, sloths, camels, and her dog.
The 20-year-old actor additionally posts modeling pictures and artistic make-up looks.
Funnily enough, last year Roumel posted about an adventure she had with her Ginny and Georgia co-star Mason Temple. The duo’s characters never interacted in the series and there’s not much hope riding on them doing so as Roumel only appears in flashback scenes and Temple’s character is in the present.
Although it is fun to see them together! Roumel captioned the photo, “It’s a good thing we’re not afraid of heights.”
Roumel gave an incredible performance in Ginny and Georgia which left many fans impressed. She already has fan accounts popping up all over social media and some are demanding that she is next cast as a “young Carole Baskin.”
Ginny and Georgia is now streaming on Netflix.
