Big news about AGT judge Heidi Klum came out late Monday evening (February 11). As reported on Monsters and Critics, Klum and Mel B will be replaced on the judges’ panel.
There are a lot of questions about why Heidi Klum is leaving America’s Got Talent and whether she has quit or been fired. That question hasn’t been answered yet, as the famous model hasn’t issued a public statement.
For Season 8 of America’s Got Talent, Klum joined the show with Spice Girls singer Mel B. The duo had been working with comedian Howie Mandel since that point.
The trio was then joined by Simon Cowell in Season 11. Now, more changes are being made in regard to the judges’ panel.
While there is no clear replacement for Heidi Klum, there are two new judges joining the show. Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union have been tapped as replacements for the outgoing judges.
Was Heidi Klum fired from AGT?
A lot of key language is being used by producers and executives of the reality competition show. One word being used to describe the judging change is “reinvent” when talking about how the show will progress. It’s definitely going to be a new direction, but will viewers accept it?
If Heidi Klum didn’t have her contract renewed, it could be viewed as the model being fired. It’s also possible that she is focusing on life with her new fiance, which might take away time she would spend with the show.
When Season 14 of America’s Got Talent begins, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and former host Tyra Banks won’t be on the new episodes.
In their places are Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough, and Terry Crews. For Crews, he has been able to get a head start on his new job, as he is serving as the host for America’s Got Talent: The Champions this winter.
Will the chemistry be as good as on past seasons of the show?
America’s Got Talent returns for Season 14 on NBC during summer 2019.
